A dog with a bone learns a hard lesson about greed at the riverbank.
एउटा कुकुरले एउटा हड्डी पायो। ऊ हड्डी मुखमा राखेर हिंड्दै थियो।
A dog found a bone. He was walking with the bone in his mouth.
बाटोमा एउटा खोला आयो। पानीमा उसले आफ्नो छाया देख्यो।
On the way, he came to a stream. He saw his own reflection in the water.
उसलाई लाग्यो कि अर्को कुकुरले ठूलो हड्डी बोकेको छ। उसले त्यो हड्डी खोस्न मुख खोल्यो।
He thought another dog was carrying a bigger bone. He opened his mouth to snatch that bone.
जसरी उसले मुख खोल्यो, उसको आफ्नो हड्डी पानीमा खस्यो। अब उसँग केही पनि थिएन।
As soon as he opened his mouth, his own bone fell into the water. Now he had nothing.
Moral of "The Greedy Dog"
लोभले सधैं नोक्सान ल्याउँछ। आफूसँग भएकोमा सन्तुष्ट रहनु पर्छ।
"Greed always leads to loss. Be content with what you have."
