The fingers of a hand argue about who is the most important.
एक दिन, हातका पाँच औंलाहरू झगडा गर्न थाले। 'म सबैभन्दा ठूलो छु,' बुढी औंलाले भन्यो।
One day, the five fingers of a hand started fighting. 'I am the greatest,' said the thumb.
'म सबैलाई बाटो देखाउँछु,' चोर औंलाले भन्यो। 'म सबैभन्दा अग्लो छु,' माझी औंलाले भन्यो।
'I show everyone the way,' said the index finger. 'I am the tallest,' said the middle finger.
मालिकले मुट्ठी बनाउन खोजे, तर तिनीहरू मिल्न सकेनन्। काम गर्न सकिएन।
The owner tried to make a fist, but they could not unite. Work could not be done.
जब तिनीहरू मिले, तब मात्र भारी उचाल्न सके। सबैको आ-आफ्नै महत्त्व हुन्छ।
Only when they united, could they lift a load. Everyone has their own importance.
Moral of "The Five Fingers"
हामी सँगै मिलेर ठूला कामहरू गर्न सक्छौं।
