The colorful national bird of Nepal teaches other birds that every color is special.
उच्च हिमालको काखमा एउटा सुन्दर डाँफे बस्थ्यो। उसका नौ थरी रङका प्वाँखहरू घाममा टल्कन्थे।
In the lap of the high mountains lived a beautiful Danphe. Its nine-colored feathers shone in the sun.
सबै चराहरू डाँफेको सुन्दरता देखेर लोभिन्थे। 'म कति राम्रो छु!' डाँफे घमण्ड गर्थ्यो।
All birds were envious of Danphe's beauty. 'How beautiful I am!' Danphe would boast.
One day, fog covered the mountains. Danphe's colors vanished, but a small brown bird sang a sweet melody.
डाँफेले बुझ्यो कि सुन्दरता प्वाँखमा मात्र हुँदैन, कला र व्यवहारमा पनि हुन्छ।
Danphe realized that beauty is not just in feathers, but also in talent and behavior.
