एउटी गरिब केटीले जंगलमा एउटी बूढी आमैलाई मद्दत गरिन्। आमैले उनलाई एउटा जादुई भाँडो दिइन्।

A poor girl helped an old woman in the forest. The woman gave her a magic pot.

'पकाऊ, भाँडो, पकाऊ' भन्दा यसले मिठो खीर पकाउँथ्यो। 'रोक, भाँडो, रोक' भन्दा यो रोकिन्थ्यो।

When said 'Cook, pot, cook', it cooked sweet rice pudding. When said 'Stop, pot, stop', it stopped.

एक दिन आमाले भाँडो चलाउनुभयो तर रोक्ने शब्द बिर्सिनुभयो। गाउँभरि खीर पोखियो।

One day, her mother used the pot but forgot the stopping words. Porridge spilled all over the village.

केटी आएर भाँडो रोकिन्। धेरै लोभ गर्नु हुँदैन।

The girl came and stopped the pot. Once should not be too greedy.
