The Festival of Lights
Introduction

Two siblings learn the true meaning of Tihar by sharing their light with a neighbor.

1

It was Tihar, the festival of lights. Sarita and her brother were busy decorating their house with oil lamps.

2

Their neighbor, an old woman, sat alone in the dark. She had no oil for her lamps.

3

Sarita saw this and whispered to her brother. They took half of their lamps and placed them in the old woman's house.

4

The old woman smiled, and her house shone brightly. Sarita felt that her house looked even brighter that night.
