Master Nepali Verbs Through Writing

Verbs (क्रियापद) are the backbone of every Nepali sentence. Our Verbs Tracing Generator helps children practice writing the most common action words - from everyday essentials like खानु (to eat) and सुत्नु (to sleep) to school vocabulary like पढ्नु (to read) and लेख्नु (to write).

Step 1: Pick a Category

Start with "Daily Verbs" for beginners, then progress to action, school, and movement categories.

Step 2: Trace & Say

Have your child say "खानु means to eat" aloud while tracing. Multi-sensory learning boosts retention.

Step 3: Build Sentences

Once comfortable, ask your child to use each verb in a sentence: "म भात खान्छु" (I eat rice).

Understanding Nepali Verb Structure

All Nepali verbs in their dictionary form (infinitive) end with -नु (-nu). For example: खा + नु = खानु (to eat). When used in sentences, the -नु ending changes based on tense, person, and respect level. These worksheets focus on the base infinite form, giving children a strong foundation before they encounter conjugations.

Nepali uses Subject-Object-Verb (SOV) word order. So "I eat rice" becomes म भात खान्छु (I rice eat). Learning to write verbs now prepares children for building complete Nepali sentences later.
